Applications

Cable End Termination Test Systems Water filled (CTTS) is used for terminating cables during routine or  impulse tests. Variety of cable diameters can be accommodated.
Cable End Termination Test Systems Water filled (CTTS) include a pair of terminations with inner and outer tubes with a base frame on wheels & a water processing unit (WPU). AC withstand voltage tests, PD and tangent delta tests with high voltage applied, can be conducted.  Water processing unit maintains the necessary conductivity through the test duration. Impulse voltage tests are possible too.

Advantages

  1. The CTT cable testing terminal system is used for testing 66-500kV cables,with a maximum diameter of 165mm.
  2. The CTT cable testing terminal is equipped with a CTW water treatment unit.According to the voltage level,the cable testing terminal has two designs:high-voltage cables above 150kV are inserted from the tail into the terminal insulation pipe;Insert cables below 150kV from above into the terminal.
  3. The CTT cable test terminal is a double water pipe system,with deionized water circulating inside.Combine water treatment units to form a closed water treatment system.Each terminal is connected to the water treatment unit by two water pipes.
  4. The structural design of the cable terminal changes the electric field distribution and energy loss of the cable within the terminal,and the water treatment unit can control the conductivity and temperature of the water.
  5. The water treatment unit is equipped with a 500L water tank for storing deionized water.Two cable terminals are connected to the water treatment unit through four water pipes.The water flow velocity in the cable terminal is about 30 L/min or 60 L/min.Heat is discharged to the outside through a heat exchanger.

Description

During the testing process of cross-linked cables with a voltage of 66kV and above, high terminal requirements are required. The oil-water terminal strengthens the insulation level of the medium and improves the breakdown field strength. However, for cross-linked cables with a voltage of 66kV and above, increasing the field strength alone cannot meet the testing requirements. In this case, it is advisable to use a water terminal and use deionized water to evenly distribute the electric field to meet the testing requirements.
CTT cable testing terminals are used for testing medium voltage, high voltage, and ultra-high voltage insulated cables. Applying high voltage (power frequency or impact) using CTT cable test terminals can meet relevant requirements and standards, and CTT cable test terminals can also be used for other tests, such as:
  1. AC voltage test
  2. Partial discharge measurement and fault location
  3. Impulse voltage test (lightning impulse and operating impulse)
  4. Measurement of dielectric loss
  5. Breakdown test
