SF6 gas insulated transformer HV AC test systems are widely used for factory testing of GIS and their metal-clad components, especially instrument transformers, and for on-site testing as well. The transformer is designed as a GIS model and is therefore ideal for testing GIS/GIL components and switchgears.

High voltage is fully sealed in a shielded space, ensuring safe and reliable experiments.
The overall partial discharge can be controlled within 1-3 pc.
It has a small volume, occupying the minimum space and lightweight components.
Built-in high voltage isolation switch enables multi-purpose use.
Easy to connect, directly connected to the test sample, making experiments more convenient.
Capable of withstanding long-distance transportation with a sturdy and durable structure.
Reduced requirements for system power capacity.
Description
SF6 gas-insulated HV AC test systems are widely used for factory testing of GIS and their metal-clad components, especially instrument transformers, and for on-site testing as well. They are metal-clad encapsulated, can be directly flanged to test object,so test system and test object are fully encapsulated. This allows a space saving test setup without safety clearances between test system or test object and walls or other objects. The test system and test object become a closed system with a low PD background noise level when directly flanged. This feature makes the model ideally suited for sensitive PD measurements. In factory, these systems allow to test sub-assemblies and components directly in the manufacturing line, thus avoiding transportation to a central test facility, and extra handling. Furthermore they can also be used for AC voltage test of other HV apparatus when equipped with output bushing. Compared to conventional oil insulated AC test systems, they are lighter and smaller, only about 1/6 height and 1/7 weight, also the merits of encapsulation remain effective during tests which is essential for PD testing.
