Description

HV DC voltage generators are used to generate high voltage DC test voltages for routine, type and development test on components and complete systems found in electrical power supply systems and operating on DC voltage (HV transmission systems etc).

They are used for withstand DC voltage or polarity reversal testing according to IEC or other national standard. Also they can be used as HVDC charging power for capacitor banks etc.

Normal HV DC voltage test system consists of HVAC charging power, doubling capacitors, rectifiers, smoothing capacitors and resistive voltage divider. HVAC voltage will be rectified to HVDC test voltage by means of an appropriate electric circuit.High-voltage DC testing for transformers, cables, bushings, switchgears, etc.
